A longtime resident of the Lake Charles area, Dr. Bernauer attended McNeese State University before earning his Doctor of Medicine at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. During his education, he made six surgical mission trips to Granada, Nicaragua.

Dr. Bernauer then completed his family medicine residency at LSU Lake Charles Family Practice and his emergency department residency at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. Currently specializing in emergency care with years of experience, Dr. Bernauer is also board certified in Family Medicine.

Dr. George spent the first part of his career in Egypt, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cairo Medical School of Medicine, after moving to the United States, Dr. George completed residencies in preliminary surgery and internal medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine – Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. After several years of practicing in Philadelphia and in South Charleston, West Virginia, Dr. George made his home in Louisiana, providing prompt, exceptional emergency care for patients.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in biological sciences at McNeese State University, Dr. Hillebrandt earned his Doctor of Medicine at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. After completing his residencies and becoming board certified in family medicine, Dr. Hillebrandt began practicing emergency medicine in Louisiana. An experienced emergency medicine physician fluent in Spanish, Dr. Hillebrandt has a heart for service to the community and to his profession, volunteering his talents for numerous causes.

After earning his Bachelor of Sciences in clinical lab sciences at Texas Tech University, Dr. James went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Following a residency at Louisiana State University Family Practice at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, Dr. James earned his board certification from the American Board of Family Physicians. Through his career, Dr. James has practiced in a variety of settings, including private family medicine practice, urgent care, and emergency medicine.

After earning his Bachelor of Sciences in chemistry at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Dr. Landry went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Returning to Louisiana, he completed his residency at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in the LSUHSC Family Medicine Program in Lake Charles. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Landry began practicing in the lake area in 2014 as an inpatient hospitalist and is skilled in treating a variety of conditions in the hospital setting.

With over 25 years of experience in practicing medicine in Louisiana, Dr. Lecky is board certified in internal medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport and completed his internal medicine residency and internship at Louisiana State University at Earl K. Long in Baton Rouge. Specializing in emergency medicine, Dr. Lecky is specially trained to treat patients during emergency medical crises.

After earning his Bachelor of Science at Baylor University, Dr. Nguyen graduated with honors from St. Matthews School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, earning his Doctor of Medicine. After earning his doctorate, Dr. Nguyen completed his internal medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Since that time, Dr. Nguyen has been practicing at hospitals in south Louisiana as an inpatient hospitalist, treating hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions.

After attended Bowling Green State University and Defiance College for her undergraduate studies, Dr. Sonnier received her medical degree from Xavier University School of Medicine in 2008 and completed her residency in family medicine in 2011. Since that time, she has practiced as an Emergency Room Physician in Lake Charles. Dr. Sonnier is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, as well as Pediatric and Neonatal Life Support. She has also received advanced aesthetic training for the administration of cosmetic neuromodulators.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Dr. Whittington went on to earn his Master of Science in biomedical engineering at Florida International University in Miami. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and was chief resident in the LSU Family Medicine Residency program in Lafayette. Since completing his residency in 2014, Dr. Whittington has been practicing emergency medicine to provide healing and comfort to patients in urgent medical situations.
