Wound Care

Our state-of-the-art wound care center at Avail Hospital is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and technicians with advanced training in wound care, who will formulate an individualized treatment plan designed to stimulate healing. Our wound care center for excellence provides the most advanced healing options to patients, utilizing the latest techniques and procedures to provide care to those suffering from non-healing wounds in a way no other provider can – all in one location.

Wound care begins with a thorough diagnostic assessment, followed by outpatient therapies to help wounds close and heal. Our expert team of physicians and nurses have specialized training to pinpoint the exact cause of your chronic injury and uses the latest techniques including vacuum-assisted closure, debridement (removal of tissue), and bioengineered skin replacement to help patients heal. In addition, our wound care center for excellence utilizes a brand new technology, Moleculight, to help identify wound infection types, specifically bacterial and other organisms.

Our mission is to provide the best treatment for chronic wounds, which is why we use the most innovative therapies and advanced wound care products available. Furthermore, with the addition of The SerenaGroup, a world-class leader of comprehensive wound care while being recognized globally for their cutting edge wound healing research, now will be able to provide the very best to southwest Louisiana.
